On Wednesday August 24th, tucked in beautiful Moose Creek Canyon, the drum roll of late summer thunder was the perfect effect to receive the news that this year’s donations through the 15th Annual Tin Cup Challenge was our largest ever!
But first a little history…from the Tin Cup Challenge in 2020 we raised $17,884.98. $11,178.11 of this was raised by direct donor contributions and $6,706.87 from the Tin Cup matching funds. Last year we raised $38,860 ($25,035 by direct donations + $13,750 matching funds + $75 in non-profit bucks). For the first time in 2021, we maximized the match amount. This year we raised $44,273 through direct donations and $12,500 through matching funds and received $25 in non-profit bucks to receive a total award of $56,798!!!
We are grateful for the dynamic staff of Valley of the Tetons Library (VTL) in helping promote the Friends of VTL and for the VTL Board of Trustees who work tirelessly behind the scenes to support staff in budgeting, maintaining the facilities and encouraging community dialog.
We encourage you to join the Friends of the VTL as we go forward to help support the library in their efforts to provide thought provoking and entertaining programs for all ages, a safe space to learn and discover and the latest technology and materials to keep you engaged and support your needs.
So if you thought you heard strange rumblings long after the storm had passed this week, fear not, it was just the foot stomping, fist pumping celebration of our normally demure Board President, Laura Curtis echoing through the valley.
