VALLEY OF THE TETONS LIBRARY HIRES KEVIN DUNNIGAN AS DEVELOPMENT DIRECTOR

DRIGGS, Idaho — Valley of the Tetons Library (VTL) is pleased to announce the hiring of Kevin Dunnigan as its new Development Director, marking a significant milestone as the Library prepares to launch a capital campaign to fund the New Community Library project.

Dunnigan brings a diverse background in communications, fundraising, education, and community engagement to the role at a pivotal moment for the library. The upcoming capital campaign will focus on raising the funds needed to build a modern, welcoming library designed to meet the evolving needs of the Teton Valley for generations to come.

“I am thrilled to welcome Kevin Dunnigan as our new Development Director,” said Emily Bahr, Director of External Affairs and Advancement. His strategic mindset, strong communication skills, and commitment to our community come at a pivotal time for the Library, and I am confident he will help propel our development program forward and bring our vision of a new community hub to life.”

Originally from the Twin Cities, Minnesota, Dunnigan earned degrees in marketing and writing from Columbia College in Chicago. Early in his career, he held leadership roles in professional sports operations and community relations, founded and led a successful youth sports organization, and directed large-scale events. He later transitioned into education, teaching business, marketing, and economics while creating mentorship, internship, and leadership development programs that connected students with local businesses and real-world learning opportunities. During that time, he earned a master’s degree focused on education.

Most recently, Dunnigan served as Communications Specialist and Public Information Officer for Jackson Hole Airport, where he led marketing and communications strategy and acted as a liaison to media and community stakeholders across the region.

“I’m honored to join Valley of the Tetons Library at such an important moment in its 60-year history. Our family loves VTL and the many programs it offers the community. The library team has been so welcoming and I’m excited to work with stakeholders to further develop literacy in the Valley,” said Dunnigan.

Dunnigan and his wife Brooke have children in the Teton Valley school system and are actively involved in the community. Outside of work, he enjoys the region’s many outdoor activities and still finds time for hockey, staying true to his Minnesota roots.

The New Community Library project will expand access to programs, collections, and gathering spaces while creating a flexible, inclusive hub for learning, connection, and lifelong discovery.
