The Victor Basement remodel project is indeed rolling along swiftly with generous support from our volunteers and skilled local craftspeople. We look forward to inviting you into this transformed space where we’ve been able to complete framing, insulation, wiring, plumbing, painting and flooring in just a few short weeks thanks to the 600 hours of generous volunteer time from our community.
Pounding nails or wielding a paintbrush not your strong suit? No worries, you don’t have to be a master carpenter to volunteer or support your library. As soon as the basement remodel is complete, we will once again be accepting book donations for our Dog-Eared Den in the Victor Branch and invite you to browse the selection of well-loved books in our new space. All donations go to the Friends of the Library to support continued projects, programs, materials and so much more.
On the subject of donations, we are thrilled and grateful by the success of our Winter Wish List Campaign. Due to the pandemic we were forced to cancel our annual winter book sale. These events are not just a time to raise funds for the library, but are our chance to meet and greet our neighbors and showcase what the Friends of the Library is all about. Out of this disappointment however, was born the idea of the Winter Wish List. This turned out to be a fun collaboration with the librarians who were eager to help us create this catalog of ways they could improve their services through your donations. From print materials to programs, from digital media to art supplies we discovered that the energy and creativity of our librarians and their drive to serve is limitless.
The Winter Wish List Campaign reached over 2,400 community members and raised a total of $3895.85. All of these funds will go directly into library improvements, materials and programs to better serve you. We so appreciate these generous donations and the reception that this campaign received!
