Spring is shaping up to be a bustling season at VTL, particularly at the Makerspace as we embark on a magical transformation. If you’re someone who loves taking on projects and finds yourself waiting for the trails to dry out, a student looking to complete some service hours, or a frequent user of the VTL Makerspace we would love for you to join us.
Project 1 – Makerspace (re)CREATION
-
Dump runs, moving furniture, breaking down shelves, deep cleaning, and sorting.
Week 2: May 6 to May 9
-
Taping and painting! Patching drywall and cleanup too.
Week 3: May 13 to May 16
-
Unboxing and assembling new furniture and tables, setting up work, study and outdoor spaces, cleaning and creating window displays, sorting and organizing supplies and materials, and configuring and setting up the music studio.
Drop in between 10 am and 6 pm on any of these days. And reach out to j.briggs@valleyofthetetonslibrary.org if there’s a specific project you’re eager to contribute to. We’ll happily provide more details and coordinate a date and time. All supplies provided. This is an excellent opportunity to get an insider’s look and play a vital role in propelling Makerspace into its next phase.
Project 2 – Tool Library (Victor)
This amazing little shed full of tools and things to check out needs to be moved about 4 ft. Looking for four volunteers to help empty the shed and assist with moving. Gather your group and pick some good dates, we are looking at June.
Project 3 – Book Bike
This sweet book trailer needs to be refinished – removing a decal, sanding and a new coat of paint. All supplies will be provided and work can happen outside of the Driggs branch or the trailer can be taken to your home or shop. Done by the end of June would be ideal!
Reach out to s.wake@valleyofthetetonslibrary.org if you are interested in the tool library or book bike projects.
Thank you for your ongoing support and dedication. We love spending time with you!
