PRESS RELEASE

September 9, 2024

NEW LIBRARY DIRECTOR AT VALLEY OF THE TETONS LIBRARY

Valley of the Tetons Library Board of Trustees is excited to announce Emily Bahr as the new library Director of External Affairs and Advancement. Selected from a group of highly talented and qualified candidates, Emily will begin her work for the library on September 3.

As part of the director team, Emily will guide the library as it continues to deepen its engagement in the valley, while creating a safe, welcoming place where people from all walks of life can come together to share their experiences, learn new things, and access information and knowledge without paying a fee.

“As the leading Trustee on the search for a new Director of External Affairs and Advancement, I was blown away by the talent and quality of the applicants. The candidates were not only local, but have a sincere commitment and desire to work for their community. We are so excited to have Emily Bahr as our new Director and look forward to working together to see our vision come to fruition,” said Connie Tyler, Trustee

“We are thrilled to welcome Emily in her position as Director,” said Jan Borstelmann, chair of the Trustees. “We are proud of the library and the reputation it has established over the decades. As we work on the challenges and opportunities presented in the 21st Century, I am certain that Emily is the right person to manage our strategic growth as a community hub where everyone has a place to belong.”

Emily’s past leadership and development experience of driving revenue generating programs, establishing and fostering partnerships with local community members and organizations, and commitment to expanding services that elevate our community will contribute to her success in this new role.

“I am honored to have been both considered and ultimately selected to fill the position of Director of External Affairs and Advancement for Valley of the Tetons Library (VTL).  I could not be more excited to join the VTL team and have the opportunity to promote the mission and vision of the library of developing a true community center to allow space for learning, exploration and creativity. As our community grows the library is prepared to meet the needs of our community. I am grateful for all of the hard work that has already been accomplished to achieve this goal and I hope to learn from and build upon the success of this amazing and dedicated team.”
