Makerspace Youth Volunteer Assistant
Are you 13 or older and interested in volunteering? The Valley of the Tetons Library Makerspace is looking for Youth Volunteers to help out, learn new skills, and make a positive impact in your community!
Supportive Presence:
Be a friendly face! Help patrons feel welcome and assist staff in the Makerspace.
Promote a Respectful Space:
Help keep the Makerspace inclusive and peaceful by promoting our Community Agreement and Makerspace policies.
Learn & Grow:
Gain experience with library operations, creative tools, basic tech troubleshooting, and assisting in workshops. You’ll help patrons find materials, answer questions, and support their projects!
Reward Program:
Complete 10 sessions (1 hour each), and earn a $20 gift card as a thank-you!
Skill Development:
Build valuable skills like communication, customer service, event planning, teamwork, and problem-solving—great for future jobs and school!
Community Impact:
Make a difference! Support Makerspace visitors of all ages and help create a vibrant community.
Time Commitment
- After School: Monday – Thursday, 4:30 – 6:00 p.m.
- Saturdays: 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.
Total Requirement:
Complete 10 sessions of 1 hour each within 3 months.
Registration & Orientation
Sign Up Online:
To start, fill out a volunteer application and select the “Makerspace Volunteer Assistant” category. This covers confidentiality and photo release permissions.
Orientation:
We’ll contact you for orientation details soon after your volunteer application is completed! Orientation will include an adult signing a Makerspace Waiver and Community agreement, a tour of Makerspace with training on confidentiality and other important guidelines and procedures to help you get started successfully.
