The National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) Big Read Comes to Teton Valley
Valley of the Tetons Library has been selected to host an NEA Big Read series — a national program that brings communities together around a single book. Starting this September and continuing through May 2027, we’re inviting the whole valley to read Jack London’s The Call of the Wild alongside us, with nine events across our branches and out into the community, connecting the book to who we are and where we live.
This isn’t just a book club — it’s a chance for Teton Valley to read together, one of only a limited number of communities nationwide chosen for this NEA-funded series this year. Our Big Read Kickoff event, Call of the West Community Heritage Day is happening September 23. Register to attend below!

Kick off our Big Read series with an evening at Linn Canyon Ranch — storytelling, historical artifacts, and chili and s’mores by the campfire. This fall through spring, our community is reading Call of the Wild by Jack London together. Pick up your free copy and answer the call.

El programa «Big Read» de la Fundación Nacional para las Artes (NEA) llega al valle de Teton
La Biblioteca del Valle de los Tetons ha sido seleccionada para acoger una serie del programa «Big Read» de la NEA, una iniciativa nacional que une a las comunidades en torno a un mismo libro. A partir de este mes de septiembre y hasta mayo de 2027, invitamos a todo el valle a leer con nosotros *La llamada de lo salvaje*, de Jack London, con nueve eventos que se celebrarán en nuestras sedes y en la comunidad, vinculando el libro con quiénes somos y dónde vivimos.
Esto no es solo un club de lectura, sino una oportunidad para que el valle de Teton lea en conjunto; es una de las pocas comunidades de todo el país seleccionadas este año para participar en esta serie financiada por la NEA.
El proyecto NEA Big Read es una iniciativa del National Endowment for the Arts (el Fondo Nacional para las Artes de Estados Unidos) en cooperación con Arts Midwest.
