Valley of the Tetons Library is happy to offer hosted group visits for schools, independent learning groups, childcare centers, community groups, and local organizations at no charge. If your group does not need a host or facilitation beyond a standard tour or branch services like book check out, you do not need to reserve a group visit. To ensure a successful visit for everyone, the following procedures are in place.

Scheduling a Visit

Advance Notice Required: Group visits must be scheduled and confirmed at least two weeks in advance. Visits can be booked for a minimum of 30 minutes or up to 2 hours.

How to Book: Use our online Group Visits request form found on our website under Services & Resources. Information about preferred date, time and location, group size, and goals of visit will be collected.

Group Size and Supervision

Maximum Group Size: 30 individuals per visit, including chaperones. Larger groups may be split across multiple time slots.

Required Group Leader to Participant Ratios:

Leaders must remain with and actively supervise their group at all times. The library is not responsible for the safety or security of unattended children. Valley of the Tetons Library, including Makerspace, does not serve as a daycare and librarians cannot be expected to act in place of parents or caregivers.

Group Expectations

Library Cards

Library cards are available to residents of Teton County, Idaho, non-residents, and seasonal residents. If your group would like to receive library cards during the visit, let us know when booking. For youth, new library card parent permission forms will be provided and must be returned in one batch to the library at least 4 business days in advance of the visit.

Accessibility and Accommodations

We strive to be inclusive. If your group has any accessibility needs, please inform us when scheduling so we can prepare accordingly.

Thank you for helping make library visits safe, educational, and enjoyable for all!
