Friends Annual 4th of July Book Sale
Your Friends of the Library are here to help you fend off the summer doldrums! As we look forward to the hot lazy days of summer, generally ushered in by the 4th of July Parade, craft fair and fireworks the Friends of the Library will be there for you. As has become a time honored tradition, we’ll be providing a shady nook under the old bell tower in the Victor City Park with boxes and boxes of dearly loved books for you to peruse. There is no better place to find your summer read. Maybe you’ll delve into an intriguing mystery while floating lazily down the Teton River, you might hike Table Mountain with a nail-biting thriller in your pocket, or a steamy romance and a tattered cookbook might be just what you’re looking for on a sultry summer evening. Whatever your guilty summer pleasure, you are sure to find it at the Friends Annual 4th of July Book Sale. We will be there by 9am, and the books will be set out in their usual higgledy piggledy fashion just to make things interesting. We encourage you to take as many books as you like, we only ask for a donation in any amount to support the Friends of the Library. All donations go directly to supporting programs, materials, facility upgrades and technology at both branches of the Valley of the Tetons Library. Don’t get lost in the doldrums! Come see us on the 4th of July, before, during and after the parade.
Winter Wish List 2021
Thank you for your support of our Winter Wish List Campaign!
Being the social bugs that we are, the Friends of the Library were saddened to postpone our December book sale, but were excited to try something new to bring in donations, and showcase a few of the wonderful things our library has to offer.
We are thrilled to report that this campaign raised $3895.85! More importantly, we appreciate the chance to reach out to potential new members and support our hardworking library staff in all the things they do for us, both large and small.
We so appreciate these generous donations and the encouraging words we’ve received!
Exciting 2021 Tin Cup Award News!
Not only was this the most successful Tin Cup Challenge for the Community Foundation of Teton Valley by raising over $2.2 million (their first time crossing the $2 million threshold), it was also BY FAR the most successful Tin Cup for the Friends of the library!
Last year we raised $17,884.98 (the highest amount raised to date). Well, due to our very generous supporters, we more than doubled that this year to [insert drum roll here] $38,860!
We could not have accomplished this without the hard work and dedication of the Friends Board, the remarkable Library staff and their creative efforts to promote Tin Cup, and to the Board of Trustees for their support and encouragement. A simple “Thank you” seems inadequate to properly convey our excitement and our gratitude for all of the support the community has shown us this year, but it will have to do for now. As we put these donations to use, enriching the resources and facilities of the Valley of the Tetons Library, we hope you will be just as enthusiastic as we are!
We are extremely gratitude to the Community Foundation of Teton Valley and to the Tin Cup Challengers, who so generously support the non-profit organizations that enhance our community.

Our 2021 Sale was one for the Books!
The book sale would not have been as successful without the generosity of everyone who stopped by and helped us raise almost $3,200!
With two years of donations stored in the basement of Victor Library, there were many interesting titles to choose from. The Friends are grateful to Scott Dobbs for his time and effort to organize books into boxes with great categories, like “Books That Became Movies!”
It took a lot of volunteer muscle to carry all the boxes upstairs and to the park. We were elated to see so many wonderful books find new homes. It was especially heartwarming to see families with youngsters combing through boxes. Stay tuned to see how we put these funds to good use to help the library serve the community.
We are already looking forward to 2022!
