Meet Our New Board Members and
Join Us for a Community Celebration and the Victor Lower Level Grand Opening!
Is anyone else surprised that it’s October? How does fall always sneak up on us while we’re still gardening, biking, or floating through the valley on our lazy river? Despite the usual frenzy of summer, two new individuals have chosen to volunteer their time to serve on the board of the Valley of the Tetons Library Friends. We are so excited to introduce these energetic and talented women who have already brought so much to our community!
Meet Debbie Nussbaum. Originally from rural Upstate New York, Debbie comes to us by way of Seattle and has lived in the valley just two years. From a young age Debbie spent her summers at a rustic family camp where television wasn’t an option, but regular trips to the library were. Thanks to her mom’s mantra, “play outside, do something creative or read a book,” Debbie has developed a lifelong love of exploring the great outdoors and also finds adventure packed inside the pages of a book. As she puts it “I have always loved libraries since I was young, and especially love the feel and smell of books!!” Debbie is taking over as Treasurer for our departing board member Margi Mathis who is leaving the valley to return to Africa. We appreciate all Margi has done for us and how much she has advanced the board during her tenure. We know she is leaving things in good order for Debbie to take over!
Meet Cindy Weber. As the daughter of a National Park employee, Cindy spent much of her youth living in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks. As she puts it “the Tetons have been in my soul for a long time”. Cindy spent her professional life as a Registered Nurse and recently retired from teaching nursing at Central Wyoming College in Jackson and continues to teach online for the University of Wyoming. She has four grown children and ten grandchildren who are spread out across the country from Washington to Florida. When she isn’t visiting her family, you can find Cindy out biking. We plan to put Cindy’s expertise in coordinating events and volunteers to work as our assistant volunteer coordinator. Cindy will help Kathryn Rawn to recruit and match volunteers to tasks in the library.
Finally, we want to invite you to our Valley of the Tetons Library Community Celebration. October 15th from 10am to 2pm. There will be activities in both the Victor and Driggs branches and the Makerspace. We are especially proud of our Victor Branch Lower Level renovation and hope you will stop by to enjoy this expanded public space and Dog-Eared Den!
See you there!!
Wow! Thank you Teton Valley
On Wednesday August 24th, tucked in beautiful Moose Creek Canyon, the drum roll of late summer thunder was the perfect effect to receive the news that this year’s donations through the 15th Annual Tin Cup Challenge was our largest ever! But first a little history…from the Tin Cup Challenge in 2020 we raised $17,884.98. $11,178.11 of […]

It’s been a busy month for the Friends of the Library! We want to thank everyone who visited our booth at the Tin Cup Challenge on the 16th, spun the wheel of fortune, and walked away with a fabulous prize. If you’ve never attended this event we recommend you put it on your calendar for […]
Springtime in the Tetons
It’s finally that time of year in Teton Valley when we wait expectantly for our garden beds to burst out from under those layers of snow and mud. Over the next several weeks, some of us will take off to visit the desert, some to a beach, and some will just stay here and take […]

We look forward to inviting you into this transformed space where we’ve been able to complete framing, insulation, wiring, plumbing, painting and flooring in just a few short weeks thanks to the 600 hours of […]
